On the 16 January 2008, Australian Mineral Fields successfully completed the application process for a single exploration license (E28/1820), approximately 75km east of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields province of Western Australia. The tenement is in close proximity to the regionally significant Avoca shear zone, approximately 20km south of the historic and currently expanding Kurnalpi mine camp, and 40km north of the Randalls mine camp. A small historic showing known as Gessner's Find is located within the tenement area, which comprises a series of shallow shafts and trench's dating for the 1920's. The tenement was most recently explored by Teck-Cominco.

Rattle Dam tenement location over simplified regional geology.
